We bought this to give extra length for those times when the campsite electrical box is situated farther away than our camper cord can reach. Using this extension has been used several times now when it would have been impossible to have an electrical connection. Well worth the investment for those "just in case" times.

You will run into those situations where your 18 inches short. Buy this so that you'll not have to make the last minute run to Walmart or the local camper store and get shafted on the price. Mine is still rolled up like it came waiting to be used. Almost needed it once. This and extra length of water hose is essential for your camper.
